Who Hasn’t Stayed At A Holiday Inn Hotel?

When someone says to you the words ‘Holiday Inn’, do you think of the 1942 movie starring Bing Cosby and Fred Astaire? Probably not. In fact, you’re probably thinking of the hotel chain, because today Holiday Inn hotels are a widespread staple of American life. Almost every little town that you can visit has a Holiday Inn, and because they are so affordable people have no problem using them over and over again.

Unlike high-class hotels like The Four Seasons, Holiday Inn hotels cater to a more middle-class demographic while still retaining good product quality.

The Original Disneyland Hotel

The Disneyland Hotel is a hotel in Anaheim in California on the west coast of the Unites States which belongs to the Walt Disney Company and is situated within Disneyland. It was the first hotel to officially bear the Disney name, and has been in operation since 1955, however it was not owned by the Walt Disney Company until 1988.

History

Disneyland in California was constructed by the Walt Disney Company in 1955, at a cost of seventeen million dollars. Disney had the desire to construct and operate a hotel bearing the Disney name but at the time did not have available finances, so they reached a deal with Jack Wrather to build and run one, who ran Wrather Corporations.

When Michael Eisner became the chairman of Walt Disney in 1984, he wanted to escape Disney's agreement with the Wrather Corporation and allow the Disneyland Hotel to be part of the Disney Company. However, when Wrather was approached by Disney he refused the deal, however when he died at the end of 1984 the Walt Disney Company bought the entire Wrather Corporation.

Hotel Facilities

The hotel has three guest room towers: Marina, Sierra and Bonita. Other buildings in the hotel complex are restaurants, stores, offices, sports and convention facilities. There is also a gazebo area where weddings take place.

The Disneyland hotel has five main restaurants which all have different themes: Goofy’s Kitchen, Captain’s Gallery, Hock’s Pointe, Steakhouse 55 and Croc’s Bits ‘n’ Bites. There are several bars, including The Lost Bar, The Wine Cellar, The Coffee House and The Lounge at Granvilles, as well as several shops within the hotel to purchase Disneyland souvenirs.

The original name of ‘Disneyland Hotel’ has been used for hotels at all of the other Disneyland sites in Paris, Hong Kong and Tokyo, all of which are very prestigious and usually priced accordingly with the luxury of the hotel, its facilities and location; all of the hotels are right near the entrance to the main parks, unlike a lot of the other Disneyland Hotels which do not have such close proximity.

Renovation in 2008

The hotel is rumoured to be going to begin a large scale renovation at the beginning of 2008 which will incorporate the Disneyland Hotel with the themed areas that are around the Disneyland park itself. The three towers of the hotel will be renamed Magic Tower (previously Marina Tower), Dream Tower (previously Sierra Tower) and Wonder Tower (previously Bonita tower).

Pointers To Remember When Looking For Antiaging Skin Care Treatments

We all know that we could not stop the years from going by but we could cheat time and look for antiaging skin care treatment for us to defy the signs of aging. There are drastic measures in which we could resort to like plastic surgeries and facelifts, but maybe the most minimal remedy that would need the doctor’s assistance is through the use of Botox injections on our face. If you are still skeptical about that, you could just opt for antiaging skin care treatment such as creams, lotions, and serums that would help us minimize the signs of getting older.

There are many antiaging skin care treatment out there in the market and you should be knowledgeable about which product to look for to help you in combating wrinkles and other signs of aging.

Pointers To Remember

When choosing the right antiaging skin care treatment, it is obvious that you should have anti-wrinkle creams since various products have high antioxidants on their ingredients which help in preventing premature aging of the skin. The use of anti-wrinkle creams may be considered as the best antiaging skin care treatment since it also helps protect the skin from harmful free radicals in the body, effects of cosmetics, and other environmental damages.

Another great antiaging skin care treatment is through the use of antiaging moisturizers because they are known to penetrate deeply into the skin, which in turn help reduce fine lines. They are also known to visibly lessen the appearance of crow’s feet, wrinkles, and sunspots. And since it is a moisturizer, it assists in hydrating the skin making it less dry. When buying a moisturizer, it is best to look for antiaging moisturizers that has sunscreens to protect your skin from sun damage at the same time. This would create a great impact in protecting your skin especially that global warming is becoming a big issue.

Do not forget to use antioxidants as part of your antiaging skin care treatment regimen because antioxidants are known to help bind free radicals and toxins. Vitamins and minerals are known to be great antioxidants so do not forget to take your multi-vitamins for you to have a younger looking skin.

And lastly, remember that exfoliating once in a while is good for your skin because when you reach the age of thirty, the capability of your skin to exfoliate decreases. We all know that exfoliating is part of skin renewal so it is important for us to look for an external way of exfoliation to encourage skin renewal.

Things to Remember When You Book A Hotel for a Business Trip

Business trips often require a great deal of travelling, and this means it’s often necessary to spend one or more nights staying in a hotel. When you book a hotel for business purposes, there are several things you need to consider.

Where is Your Business Destination?

You won’t want to spend any more time than absolutely necessary to get to your place of business once you leave your hotel. This is especially true when you have already travelled a considerable distance to reach your destination.

Before you book a hotel, find out which ones are within walking distance of your destination. Not only will this give you a break from driving (or using public transport), it will also ensure you get a breath of fresh air before attending your business meeting or conference.

How Many Nights?

Many people travel to their hotel the night before their business meeting takes place, so they will arrive fresh and well rested the next morning, having stayed at a hotel the night before. They then head home straight after what can be a long day’s work, just so they can spend the next night back in their own bed.

This can be a dangerous choice to make however. Driving tired is never a good idea, and if you have more than a couple of hours to drive, it’s probably best to book a hotel room for the night after the meeting as well, even if it means taking a day off work the next day in order to travel back safely.

Posh or Standard?

When you book a hotel room for business purposes, your needs will be different than if you were on holiday. You will probably be satisfied with a more basic room, as you may not be using it other than for getting a reasonable night’s sleep.

On the other hand, if you want to make a good impression you may want to upgrade and book a hotel room in a more upmarket hotel, to give the impression you and your business are doing extremely well. It’s all a question of image.

Keeping Records

Finally, remember to keep any receipts you are given when you book a hotel room. You will need these to claim expenses for your trip, or offset them against any tax you might pay if you are self employed. That is one of the best perks of staying in a hotel when you are travelling on business.

Saving Money on Your Vacation with Discount Hotel Rates

When planning a vacation, one of the main areas of issue after choosing a location, is choosing a hotel and what the costs involved will be. Hotel rooms per night are rising in price wherever the tourists and visitors seems to go. However, there are many places to look that will enable you to get a discount hotel rate and save money on your trip away.

Where can discount hotel rates be found?

One of the easiest ways to find discount hotel rates is to go to your local travel agents. Often they will have discounted hotel deals in the windows of the shop, or by asking a travel assistant within the shop they will usually have access to some excellent discounted deals that are not necessarily advertised. It is worth trying to negotiate on the price also, as you may be able to get extra discount.

Another option is to use the internet. There are a lot of hotel specialist websites that exist to find you a discount on hotel rates. The majority allow you to input the date that you require to arrive at your hotel, as well as the number of people going and which destination you would like to go to, and then show you the discount that is available on the hotel when you have searched by displaying how much you have saved.

Last Minute, as well as being a good provider of last minute hotel and vacation deals, also has constant discount on hotel rates. Expedia is one of the most popular websites for booking vacations on, and allow the customer to save on their hotel rooms by offering money off on the majority of their advertised hotels.

Expedia offers many different packages depending on your needs and prices vary depending on your requirements. Of course, something that you will want to look for is reasonable prices. U.S. Hotel rates is a website allows you to search for a hotel by US state, and use many different suppliers to find the best deal for their customers.

Most websites will also have a number available that customers can ring to book a hotel. This is often a very good option, as the although the prices on these websites are already discounted, the prices on the internet are fixed discounts, yet talking to someone on the telephone will enable you to negotiate on the price somewhat if you are feeling brave, and may get you an even cheaper discounted hotel rate.

Four Seasons Hotels: A Lavish Place

If you’re the kind of person who likes the expensive highlight, then you probably already know that the Four Seasons hotel chain is pretty much the best there is. If you are in the mind to praise the man behind it all, please direct your thanks and gracious statements to Isadore Sharp. Today worth more than three hundred and fifty million dollars, Isadore Sharp graduated from the Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Toronto, Canada in 1952. Nine years later his degree in architecture paid off when he built and opened the first Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Toronto. Not ten years after that, the first overseas Four Seasons hotel opened in London, England.

In the beginning the Four Seasons was not exclusively a luxury resort, but through constant changes and a knack for staying ahead both technologically and financially it built itself up to what it is today. Which is excellent, in fact, the Four Seasons Hotel Chain was recently called one of the best luxury hotels in the world by Travel/Leisure magazine.

Home Away From Home

In some cases people have considered being at a Four Seasons hotel is better than being at home, so they decided to move in. The Residence Club sells villas, timeshares, and penthouses out to private people just like you’d rent a house. Being that the Four Seasons customer service was rated #2 by Business Week magazine, I can understand why. Nothing beats being pampered, and if you have the money I would highly recommend it.

Relaxation: Anytime, Anywhere

Usually spending the night at a hotel is stressful. You’re in a strange place, usually out of town; you don’t have all of your usual household amenities, because everyone always forgets something, and you probably had a long car or plane or boat ride to wherever you are. So what do you do? Well, if you’re in a Four Seasons hotel, you would go to the spa. Not only do they offer massages, facials, and pedicures, but you can even get seaweed or mud wraps for those wrinkles. For a little bit extra, you can bring the experience of the spa back to your hotel room, and get a great massage without ever even getting off the couch.

Massages aren’t the only thing that you can have brought to your room. Every Four Seasons hotel offers twenty four hour room service, so at any time of the day or night that you feel like you need a snack or a drink, you will be waited on with gusto. The menu varies from hotel to hotel, but each kitchen is guaranteed to be both delicious and prompt. All in all, anything that you can ever need you can find at a Four Seasons hotel.

What to Expect in a Hotel Room

A hotel is a building that provides lodging for paying guests, usually for a short period of time, anywhere from one night to two or three weeks. Hotels often provide a few additional services for their guests such as a restaurant, a swimming pool or other fitness facilities. There are often childcare options available.

Many of these additional features are included in the price of a hotel room, although some may require a further fee. Restaurant meals are often included in the price of a hotel room; breakfast may be included, as well as dinner, but there may be cheaper options available to refrain from eating in the hotel and getting food elsewhere.

Obviously the main factor when choosing and going to a hotel is the hotel room. The value and style of the room will vary according to the class rating of the hotel (how many starts it has been given) and how much the user is willing to pay for their room.

What Are the Basic Features of a Hotel Room?

Very basic accommodation in a hotel room consists of a bed, a cupboard, a small table and commonly a washbasin if the room is not en-suite. If en-suite is not available or not chosen by a guest then a toile and washing facilities such as a shower or bath will be available for usage elsewhere in the hotel.

Additional Features of a Hotel Room

As the standard of the room gets bigger, so do the facilities. Many hotel rooms feature en-suite bathrooms, usually with a shower, toilet and sink. There are usually guest towels available for usage which will be replaced once the room is vacated before a new guest arrives.

More commonly in the United States nowadays, a lot of hotel rooms feature climate control, allowing the room user to control how hot or cold the room is. Other features may be found depending on the rating of the hotel room, such as a telephone (to make external calls, or used to ring room service facilities in the hotel if this is offered), an alarm clock and intern facilities that can be used if the customer has brought their computer.

There is often a television with access to mainstream television channels. There is often a mini bar in a hotel room, usually a small fridge which has snacks and drinks that are paid for on departure as well as tea and coffee making facilities. All of these additional features are there to make the user of the hotel room have as nice a stay as is possible.

Finding the Best Hotel Rates

The process of finding the best hotel rates does not have to be hard, as long as you know the right places to look. There are a number of great companies available that are set up to help you in just this sort of situation, and if you are looking for the best hotel rates possible, there are a few companies in particular that you are going to want to become familiar with.

Choice Hotels

Choice Hotels, for instance, is a fantastic option if you are looking to find the best hotel rates, and they are known for being the nation’s largest hotel franchisor, with over 270 properties under the Comfort, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Econo Lodge and Rodeway Inn brands, totaling over 23,000 rooms, which is obviously quite impressive.

Go Fly

This is another great option that you have when it comes to finding the best hotel rates in the world, and they have been operating as an online division of Avia Voyages travel agency since 2003. They are experts when it comes to finding the very best hotel rates, and their primary goal is to provide the best service to their customers, a goal which they have been incredibly successful in thus far.

Additional Information

There are also a few other important things that you will want to consider anytime you are planning a trip, and for instance learning how to travel with just one bag is something that will come in very convenient for you, especially if you are traveling to a particular destination where you are only allowed a certain amount of luggage.

The first thing you need to do here is get yourself a shoulder bag or backpack that has straps and plenty of pockets. Then you should get together the following: three changes of clothing, laundry detergent for washing by hand, a universal sink stopper, a portable clothesline, and toiletries.

Next, you want to pack using the ‘bundling’ method, which means that you need to wrap your clothes around large objects, such as pairs of shoes or toiletries, in order to save yourself as much room as possible. Make sure that you stuff your underwear and socks into shoes to save space and as well to prevent your shoes from getting crushed.

As well, due to airline security standards, you should always use solids rather than liquids when it comes to toiletries, and make sure that you minimize as best as possible the number of items that require electricity, because converters can not only be costly but space-consuming as well.

Staying in a Budget Hotel

Hotel accommodation varies widely throughout the world. From unique one off hotels, to luxury hotels that cost thousands of dollars per room per night, to the big hotel chains that have several buildings in every city, there are as many hotels to stay in as there are types of people who stay in them.

But not everyone has the budget to stay in expensive accommodation for even a single night, let alone a weekend break or a longer holiday. Luckily there is another alternative that is available in most big cities – the budget hotel.

This type of service is ideal for those who are on business trips. It is also ideal for people who are looking to have a well earned break away, without putting too much of a dent in their pocket.

What Services do Budget Hotels Offer?

Budget hotel rooms are of course going to be a lot more basic than those offered by the bigger and more expensive chains. However, you shouldn’t dismiss them as being below standard.

If you think about it logically, any holiday spent away from home is mostly spent out and about, exploring your location and doing anything except sitting in your hotel room. If you are going to use your room as nothing more than a base, a place to sleep and to store your belongings while you are out having fun, then why not consider a budget room?

Some hotels offer a basic room for a cheap price. Additional services you might expect to find as standard in any other hotel are offered as extras which you will pay for only if you require them. This is a good bargain if for example you never eat breakfast, and never take advantage of the free meal included within the price of your room.

Finding a Good Budget Hotel

As always, perhaps the best place to start is to type the phrase “budget hotel” into a search engine to see what comes up. Some websites are dedicated to providing the best information on budget accommodation in the country.

Of course the cheaper the budget rooms are, the more basic they will be, but this doesn’t mean the service you will receive will be below standard. Ask around to see if any friends or family members can provide you with any recommendations, before searching online to see what’s available. In short, if you’re looking for a base from which to enjoy a short break, a budget hotel room could provide a way to cut costs while still having a good time.
